Viking Drakkar and Urnes Symbol Sterling Silver Ring

1 review

The Drakkar is a type of longship used by the Vikings. They are also called dragon ships because they typically have a dragon or serpent as a figurehead. Longships gave the Vikings dominant sea power in Europe from around A.D. 800 to 1100; a period called the Viking Age. The Vikings used the Drakkar to transport soldiers to pillage Europe.

This unique handmade ring features a striking Drakkar that has a mast with a sail and this ship appears to be sailing in the open sea. It is accented with the Urnes Style Viking art on the side. The Urnes style presented an extraordinary beast which was a greyhound-like creature and snakes. They bit each other creating the loops and the figure-8. This ring's grandiose design symbolizes the fierce strength of the Old Norse and is manifested through this ring.

This product is 100% handmade and crafted from high-quality materials and is solid silver - not only plated but solid material.

100% pure silver is too soft to make durable jewelry out of. As a result, the industry standard is to combine 92.5% silver with 7.5% of other metals to create a strong alloy that can be used in jewelry. This alloy is what is referred to as Sterling Silver 925.

If you don't know your ring size we can help! There are 2 methods you can use to work out the correct ring size you need. To work this out you will need a ruler which shows mm and a piece of string of paper.

Method 1 - Without a Ring

  1. Cut a piece of string or a thin piece of paper about 6 inches long.
  2. Fold/wrap the string/paper around your ring finger at the base of the knuckle.
  3. Mark with a pen the point on the string/paper where the ends meet.
  4. Measure in mm from the start of the string/paper to where you marked it with a pen.
  5. The number you get is the circumference of your ring finger.
  6. Find the circumference in the table below to find the corresponding ring size.

Method 2 - With a Ring

  1. Take your ring off and place it flat on a table/desk.
  2. Measure the distance in mm between the inner edges of your ring with a ruler.
  3. This is the diameter of your ring in mm.
  4. Look up the diameter in the table below to find the corresponding ring size.
