In the Ancient Era of Greek chariots were used by higher rank armies as transport or mobilize the enemy. The earliest spoke-wheeled chariots date to ca. 2000 BC. The use of chariots peaked around 1300 BC. In the historical Greece it retained a high status and memories of that era were handed down in poetry.
