Native American Galaxy Lion Canvas
Native American Galaxy Lion Canvas
Lions play a variety of roles in American mythology. In some western tribes, seeing a lion or listening it roar is bad omen and jungles are often associated with magic. On the other hand, among the eastern tribes, such as Seminoles and Shawnees, the Lions are precious animals with powerful hunting sense and lions are one of their main clan animals. In the legends of these tribes, Lions are sometimes described as the animal head or fighter. Several Pueblos and Zuni hunters carried stone Lion fetishes for protection, ascribing to them both healing and hunting powers. In South America, lions were associated with wealth and the earth by the Quechua people and many Quechua still consider it lucky to catch sight of a cougar today.
