Thor is the red haired and bearded Norse and Germanic God of Thunder, mostly known for wielding his mighty hammer Mjölnir. Thor is mentioned throughout the recorded history of Germanic tribes from Roman times. Emblems of Mjölnir were worn throughout Northern Europe and Britain, right up to Christianisation of Scandanavia.
