In Norse lore, the god, Odin, impaled his heart with his own spear and hung on the Yggdrasil, for nine days and nights all to perceive the meaning of the runes.  Legend says that the runes were the original source of fate and emerged from the Well of Urd beneath Yggdrasil the ‘Tree of Life’. Runes are the letters in a set of related alphabets known as runic alphabets and became widely used amongst the many Germanic tribes that viewed for survival throughout Europe. This Choker features a finely crafted Mannaz Runic Alphabet (Letter M) pewter pendant.
